King of Prussia, PA – The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced today that pipe replacement is underway Route 63 (Welsh Road) in Montgomery and Lower Gwynedd townships, Montgomery County, after a small section of roadway was closed on Saturday, May 17, due to a collapsed drainage pipe.
Motorists are advised that Route 63 (Welsh Road) between Stump Road and Gwynedd Lea Drive will be closed and detoured until work to repair the drainage pipe and safely restore the highway is completed.
During the closure, Route 63 (Welsh Road) motorists are being directed to use U.S. 202 (Dekalb Pike) and Route 309 (Bethlehem Pike). Local access will be maintained for residents and businesses.
Drivers are advised to allow extra time when traveling near the work area because backups and slowdowns will occur. All activities are weather dependent.
