King of Prussia, PA – The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced today plaque installations will occur next week on the recently completed bridge that carries South Creek Road (Route 100) over the East Penn Railroad and Brandywine Creek in Pennsbury Township, Chester County and Chadds Ford Township, Delaware County.
Motorists are advised of the following travel restriction:
- Wednesday, December 3, and Thursday, December 4, from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, a lane closure with flagging will be in place on South Creek Road between Rocky Hill Road and Cossart Road to allow crews to install three commemorative plaques on the 99-year-old structure.
The bridge reopened to traffic on Friday, November 14, following the completion of the $15.4 million project to replace the existing 27-foot-wide structure with a new, two-lane, slightly wider, six-span pre-cast reinforced concrete arch bridge.
In addition, an open steel bridge railing with concrete pilasters at the piers was installed to allow for scenic viewing. Other features include recessed panels and new signage, plaques, and delineators.
