Virtual Plans Display Announced for 2026 Fayette County Epoxy Overlay Project

Meeting materials and a comment form are now available online

Uniontown, PA – The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation’s (PennDOT’s) Engineering District 12 invites the public to participate in a Virtual Plans Display to review and provide feedback on the 2026 Fayette County Epoxy Overlay Project.

This project will add a 3/8-inch epoxy overlay and new pavement markings on four Fayette County bridges. Additional work varies to each specific bridge. The bridges included in the project are:

  1. Route 51 over Route 119 – Pittsburgh Street, North Union Township.
  2. Route 21 over Route 119 – McClellandtown Road, South Union Township.
  3. Route 40 over Route 43 – Redstone Way, Redstone Township.
  4. Route 119 over Route 43 – Morgantown Road, Georges Township.

Traffic will be maintained with short-term lane closures for Route 21, Route 40, and Route 119. A weekend detour will be used for Route 51.

The purpose of this Virtual Plans Display is to provide information on the 2026 Fayette County Epoxy Overlay Project covering the improvements, impacts, traffic control, and anticipated schedule.

To participate in the Virtual Plans Display visit PennDOT’s District 12 website under the Projects Near You and select 2026 Fayette County Epoxy Overlay. The materials will be on the website for the duration of the project. The public comment period is March 24 through April 7.

Motorists can check conditions on major roadways by visiting www.511PA.com. 511PA, which is free and available 24 hours a day, provides traffic delay warnings, weather forecasts, traffic speed information and access to more than 1,200 traffic cameras. 511PA is also available through a smartphone application for iPhone and Android devices, by calling 5-1-1, or by following regional X alerts.
