Crawford Lane Bridge Single Lane Restriction Begins Today in Westmoreland County

Crawford Lane Bridge restriction is part of the I-70 at Arnold City Interchange Project

Uniontown, PA—Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) District 12 is announcing a single-lane restriction on Crawford Lane Bridge in Rostraver Township, Westmoreland County, will begin Today, October 23.

Temporary traffic signals are installed on both sides of the bridge to guide traffic through the work zone. This restriction is necessary as part of ongoing work associated with the I-70 at Arnold City Interchange Project.

The following closures will remain in place to allow crews to continue work as part of the I-70 at Arnold City Interchange project:

  • Eastbound I-70 off-ramp to Arnold City (Exit 44)
  • Arnold City on-ramp to eastbound Interstate 77
  • Finley Road (Route 3011) between Ridge Road and the eastbound I-70 interchange
  • Indian Hill Road Bridge over I-70 to eastbound I-70

All restrictions will remain in place through June 2026. All work depends on weather and operations.

This work is part of the I-70 at Arnold City Interchange project, which connects Route 3011 (Finley Road/Indian Hill Road) and Daugherty Lane to I-70. The project aims to enhance safety and traffic operations at the interchange and along the interstate. The project area is approximately 1.75 miles long, extending from the I-70 bridge over the Wheeling and Lake Erie Railroad to 1.37 miles east of the Arnold City Interchange. Golden Triangle Construction Company, Inc. is the prime contractor.

The $89 million infrastructure investment will include widening the median from four (4) feet to 10 feet and the outside shoulders from 10 to 12 feet. The reconstructed interchange will utilize a diamond configuration with a five-leg roundabout connecting the eastbound ramps with Indian Hill Road and Finley Road. The westbound ramps will be rebuilt as standard diamond ramps with a non-signalized intersection. The roadway will be shifted approximately four (4) feet to the north to accommodate the widening.

Motorists should exercise caution traveling through work zones and be alert for workers. Safety is everyone’s responsibility.
