Pittsburgh, PA – The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) is advising drivers to use caution if traveling in the eastern section of Allegheny County due to reports of flooding, debris covered roads, and landslides. Crews are out assessing damages and performing clean-up operations.
Portions of the following Allegheny County state roads are reported to have restrictions due to the weather-related impacts mentioned above:
- Route 48 (Mosside Boulevard) at the intersection with Route 130
- Route 130 (Tri-Boro Expressway)
- McKee Road (Route 2035)
- William Penn Highway/Business 22 (Route 2048)
- Lower Rodi Road (Route 2053)
- Thompson Run Road (Route 2065)
PennDOT warns drivers not to drive across roads covered with water because even shallow, swiftly flowing water can wash a car from a roadway. Also, the roadbed may not be intact under the water. Never drive around barricades or signs on closed roads – Turn Around, Don't Drown.
Please stay alert and drive cautiously – safety is everyone’s responsibility.
