King of Prussia, PA – The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced today that construction is planned next week on U.S. 422 in North Coventry Township, Chester County, and West Pottsgrove Township, Montgomery County.
Motorists are advised of the following travel restrictions:
- Monday, May 5, through Friday, May 9, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, a lane closure will be in place on U.S. 422 in both directions between Keim Street and Grosstown Road for geotechnical test borings.
- Monday, May 12, through Friday, May 16, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, the ramp from eastbound U.S. 422 to Route 100 (Pottstown Pike) will be closed and detoured for geotechnical borings. Motorists will be directed to continue on eastbound U.S. 422, exit at Keim Street, and take the ramp to westbound U.S. 422 to access Route 100 (Pottstown Pike).
In addition, lane closures with flagging will occur on High Street between Heritage Drive and Porter Road in Lower Pottsgrove Township, Montgomery County, on Monday, May 5, from 8:00 PM to 6:00 AM the following morning for barrier placement and a traffic shift under PennDOT’s $83.6 million project to reconstruct and improve approximately 2.1 miles of the expressway and replace bridges between the Sanatoga Interchange and Porter Road.
Motorists are advised to allow extra time when traveling near or through the work areas because backups and delays will occur. All scheduled activities are weather dependent.
