Parks Road Construction is Next Step in the Balls Bend Safety Improvement Project in Middlesex Township, Butler

Indiana, PA – The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) is alerting motorists to the closure of a portion of Park Road June 10 through July 12, 2024, to widen the entrance of Park Road to Route 228.

Park Road will be closed for 32 days from State Road to Route 228 with a 4.4 mile detour.  To access Route 228 from Parks Road, motorists will take State Road to Denny Road to Three Degree Road.

This $26.5 million safety improvement project is anticipated to be completed in January 2025 by Independence Excavating of Independence, Ohio.  The project is a major roadway realignment project involving the addition of a travel lane in each direction and a center turn lane. It also includes the construction of four new structures, realigned local road connections, and a new signalized intersection at State Route 228 and Parks Road.
