King of Prussia, PA – The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced today that base repair operations are planned on two state highways in Middletown Township, Delaware County, under multiple ongoing projects to repair and pave more than 200 miles of state highway across the Philadelphia region.
Motorists are advised of the following travel restrictions:
- Monday, July 14, through Friday, July 18, from 7:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Elwyn Road will be closed between Baltimore Pike and Route 352 (New Middletown Road). During the closure, motorists will be directed to use Baltimore Pike and Route 352 (New Middletown Road).
- Monday, July 14, through Friday, July 18, from 7:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Barren Road will be closed between Painter Road and Ridley Creek Road. During the closure, motorists will be directed to use Painter Road, Rose Tree Road, and Ridley Creek Road.
Local access will be maintained. Drivers are advised to allow extra time when traveling near the work areas because backups and delays will occur. All scheduled activities are weather dependent.
Under these resurfacing and improvement projects, PennDOT’s contractors are repairing, milling, and repaving state highways with new asphalt pavement that will seal roadways and provide motorists with a safer and smoother riding surface.
