For 25 days from July 10, 2026 – August 3, 2026*, I-376 will be closed in both directions to allow PennDOT to slide the new I-376 Commercial Street Bridge into place.
PennDOT recommends that employers in the area directly affected by the closure and near the detour/alternative routes allow flexibility to their employees, including remote/telework, where possible, and adjusted start/end times to avoid peak traffic.
For employees who must work in person, carpooling or using public transit is highly recommended.
The following graphics can be used for internal or external communications to bring awareness to this closure and your company's participation in alternative work and commuting during these 25 days.
**Unforeseen issues may arise during the project. While we will do our best to mitigate, these dates are subject to change.
Dear Team,
Beginning July 10, 2026, a major section of I-376 Parkway East will be fully closed for approximately 25 days as part of the Commercial Street Bridge Replacement Project. Significant delays are anticipated on detour routes. If travel in the area is absolutely necessary, motorists should plan extra travel time and consider alternate routes.
To help minimize disruptions and keep everyone moving safely, we encourage you to consider the following options:
- Work Remotely or Adjust Your Schedule: If your role allows, take advantage of remote work options or flexible hours to avoid peak congestion.
- Carpool or Use Public Transit: Sharing rides or using transit can reduce traffic and make your commute less stressful. Information about additional Park & Ride locations will be available at pa.gov/CommercialStBridge.
- Plan Ahead: Review detour maps, allow extra travel time, and consider rescheduling non-essential in-person meetings during the closure period.
Your cooperation will help ease traffic demand and keep the region moving during this critical infrastructure improvement. For more details and updates, visit the project website at pa.gov/CommercialStBridge.
