Project to Pave Part of Route 77 in Crawford County to Start Soon

A $1.3 million resurfacing project that will give motorists a smoother ride on more than 3 miles of Route 77 in Crawford County is scheduled to start next week. 

A $1.3 million resurfacing project that will give motorists a smoother ride on more than 3 miles of Route 77 in Crawford County is scheduled to start next week.

This project includes milling and paving 3.27 miles of Route 77 from the intersection with Route 89 to the Erie County line in the Borough of Spartansburg and Sparta Township.

Work will also include updated drainage and guiderail, roadway markers, and line painting.

Construction is expected to begin August 25, 2025, weather permitting, and is expected to be completed in October 2025.

As needed, there will be lane restrictions with traffic controlled by flaggers throughout the project. Drivers should be alert for traffic pattern shifts and lane restrictions.

The contractor is IA Construction Corporation, of Franklin, PA. The contract cost is $1,327,777.77, which is to be paid entirely with state funds.
