    ​Inspection reveals deterioration to beams

    Harrisburg, PA – The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced today that the Muddy Creek Forks Road (Route 2044) bridge spanning the North Branch Muddy Creek has been closed indefinitely following an inspection that revealed significant deterioration to the bridge beams.

    The bridge is located just to the south of the intersection with New Park Road (Route 2069).

    A detour is in place. Travelers heading east on Muddy Creek Forks Road from west of the closure should take Muddy Creek Forks Road north to High Rock Road (Route 2046) and travel east to Muddy Creek Forks Road/New Park Road (Route 2069).

    Travelers heading west from east of the closure should take Muddy Creek Forks Road/New Park Road (Route 2069) north to High Rock Road and travel west to Muddy Creek Forks Road.

    Motorists can check conditions on major roadways by visiting www.511PA.com. 511PA, which is free and available 24 hours a day, provides traffic delay warnings, weather forecasts, traffic speed information and access to more than 1,000 traffic cameras. 511PA is also available through a smartphone application for iPhone and Android devices, by calling 5-1-1, or by following regional Twitter alerts accessible on the 511PA website.
