Route 30 Lincoln Highway Bridge Upgrades Begin Friday in Westmoreland County

Uniontown, PA – Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) District 12 has announced bridge improvements on Route 30 (Lincoln Highway) over Pittsburgh Street, between North Greengate Road and Route 136 exit interchanges, begin this weekend in Hempfield Township, Westmoreland County.

A phased single lane restriction (reducing lanes to 11' width) is scheduled to be in place continuously, on two consecutive weekends, depending on weather and operations:

  • Friday, October 20 at 8:00 PM through Wednesday, October 25 at 6:00 AM.
  • Friday, October 27 at 8:00 PM through Wednesday, November 1 at 6:00 AM.

Crews from CriLon Corp will be removing and replacing expansion dams on the bridge and repairing the approaches as needed – an investment of $1.65 million.

Commuters should expect delays due to Route 30 (Lincoln Highway) being a high traffic area.

Exercise caution during night work and while approaching the work zone. Remain alert and follow the posted signs and speed limits. Safety is everyone's responsibility.
