Montoursville, PA – Motorists are advised a drilling project will begin next week on Interstate 80 westbound in Scott and Mount Pleasant townships, Columbia County.
Beginning Monday, November 4, 2024, the contractor, Penn Drilling will be performing drilling activities on I-80 westbound between the Route 487 / Lightstreet interchange (mile marker 236) and Route 42 / Buckhorn interchange (mile marker 232). Motorists can expect the right (driving) lane to be restricted where work is being performed.
Additional drilling will take place in the median near the bridges over Papermill Road, near mile marker 235. Motorists should anticipate the left shoulder to be closed while work is being performed.
Work will be performed between the hours of 8:00 PM and 6:00 AM Sunday through Thursdays. Work on this project is anticipated to be completed by Friday, November 22, 2024, weather permitting.
Motorists should be alert, slow down, watch for lane closures, and drive with caution.
