Hollidaysburg, PA –The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) is developing plans in cooperation with South Woodbury Township for a project involving two bridges that carry Route 7221 (T-705 Pine Hill Road) over Three Springs Run in South Woodbury Township, Bedford County. For those interested in learning more about this project, a public plans display is scheduled for Tuesday, February 4, from 10 AM to 11 AM at the South Woodbury Township Building 125 North Rd., New Enterprise, PA 16664.
The project is slated to occur during the 2027 construction season and will include the removal of one bridge, known as Township Bridge No. 4, and the replacement of the second bridge, known as Township Bridge No. 5, with a box culvert. There will be minor improvements at the intersection of PA 869, minor approach work at Township Bridge No. 5, and construction of cul-de-sacs on both sides of where Township Bridge No. 4 previously existed. The project will include a 24-week detour of approximately 0.6 miles.
The purpose of this meeting is to provide the public an opportunity to review and comment on the proposed project. Representatives from South Woodbury Township and PennDOT will be available to answer questions and receive comments regarding the projects. The comments of all individuals, groups or organizations are welcome. Anyone with knowledge of historic resources in these project areas should attend the meeting.
