Bridge is the first of a two-bridge contract
Harrisburg, PA – The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced today that the Bridge Valley Road (Route 3038) bridge in Lancaster County is scheduled to be closed next week for a replacement project. The bridge spans an unnamed tributary to the Susquehanna River between Lake Aldred Terrace and Ridge Drive in Martic Township.
Weather permitting, the bridge will be closed Wednesday, June 25. A detour of up to 80 days will be in place using Route 324 and River Road (Route 3017).
This work consists of the replacing the existing slab structure with a precast concrete span arch culvert, approach reconstruction and guiderail updates.
This bridge is the first of a two-bridge contract that also includes replacing the Martic Heights Drive (Route 3018) bridge spanning a tributary to Tucquan Creek between Creamery Road and Douts Hill Road in Martic Township. This bridge is expected to be closed later this year. An updated press release will be issued prior to the closure of this bridge.
JVI Group, Inc., of York Springs, PA, is the contractor on this $1,996,224 project.
All work is expected to be completed by October 22, 2025.
