Interstate 79 Lane Restrictions Monday in Allegheny County

Pittsburgh, PA – PennDOT District 11 is announcing lane restrictions in both directions of Interstate 79 in Robinson and Neville townships, Allegheny County will occur Monday, January 13 weather permitting.

Single-lane restrictions will occur in both directions of I-79 from approximately one-half mile south of the Route 51/Coraopolis/McKees Rocks (Exit 64) interchange to the northern end of the Neville Island Bridge. These restrictions will occur from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. intermittently and for no longer than one-half mile at a time to allow crews to conduct drainage work and to patch a pothole on the Neville Island Bridge.

This work is part of the $43.9 million I-79 “S-Bend” Project that included full-depth pavement reconstruction, and bridge preservation work. Additionally, there was milling and paving of three ramps at the Route 51 (Coraopolis/McKees Rocks) interchange. The project also included guiderail replacement, highway lighting and signing upgrades, new pavement markings and delineation, and other miscellaneous construction work.
