PennDOT to Begin Project to Resurface 25 Miles of State Highway in Bucks County

King of Prussia, PA – The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced today that construction will begin next week on a $9.4 million project to repair and resurface 25 miles of state highway in Bucks County.

Motorists are advised of the following travel restrictions:

Monday, June 12, through Friday, June 30, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, a weekday lane closure is scheduled on Route 332 (Newtown Bypass) between northbound Route 532/Route 413 (Newtown Bypass) and Newtown Gate Drive/Summit Trace Road in Newtown Township.

Motorists are advised to allow extra time when traveling through the work areas because backups and delays will occur. The schedule is weather dependent.

Other state highways scheduled for resurfacing under this project include:
  • Tohickon Hill Road between Stump Road and Route 32 (River Road/Point Pleasant Pike) in Plumstead Township;
  • Creamery Road/Geigel Hill Road between the Bedminster Township line and Giegel Hill Road over Swamp Creek in Tinicum Township;
  • Pine Grove Road/Yardley-Morrisville Road between the U.S. 1 (Martin Luther King Jr. Expressway) and Delavue Road in Lower Makefield and Falls townships;
  • Taylorsville Road between Taylorsville Road over Dyers Creek and Route 32 (River Road) in Lower Makefield and Upper Makefield townships; and
  • Minsi Trail between Blooming Glen Road and Route 313 (Dublin Pike) in Hilltown Township.

Under this improvement project, PennDOT is milling the existing roadway surface and repaving the state highways with new asphalt. The new pavement will seal the roadways and provide motorists with a smoother riding surface.

Blooming Glen Contractors, Inc. of Perkasie, Bucks County, is the general contractor on this project, which is financed with 100 percent state funds.

Motorists can check conditions on more than 40,000 roadway miles by visiting www.511PA.com. 511PA, which is free and available 24 hours a day, provides traffic delay warnings, weather forecasts, traffic speed information and access to more than 1,000 traffic cameras.
