PennDOT's Fayette County Maintenance Update -- Week of June 17, 2024

Uniontown, PA – Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) Fayette County Maintenance Manager Jason L. Spangler has announced the following tentative work plan for the week of June 17, 2024. All maintenance activities are conducted depending on weather and operations. 

Motorists can anticipate detours, flaggers, moving operations, and/or single-lane restrictions. Please drive with caution through all work areas and be alert for signed work zones requiring the use of headlights. Safety is everyone's responsibility. 

Bridge replacement:

  • ​Route 1019 (Breakiron Road) in Bullskin Township. ​​Road closed. Posted detour:
    • ​Route 1019 (Breakiron Road).
    • Route 1050 (Englishman Hill Road).
    • Route 1051 (Breakneck Road).
  • ​Route 3008 (Willow Grove Road) in Nicholson Township. Road closed. Posted detour:​ 
    • Route 3008 (Willow Grove Road).
    • Route 3009 (Woodside Old Frame Road).
    • Route 3011 (Fairview Hill Road).

     Brushing:

    • Route 4022 (Labelle/Narrows Road) in Luzerne Township.

     Ditch cleaning:

    • Route 1062 (Clay Run Road) in Springfield Township.
    • Route 2012 (Sugarloaf Road) in Stewart Township.
    • Route 2017 (Maple Summit Road) in Stewart Township.

     Shoulder cutting:

    • Route 3008 (Willow Grove Road) in Nicholson Township.
    • Route 3009 (Old Frame Road) in Nicholson Township.
    • Route 3011 (Fairview Hill Road) in Nicholson Township.

     Shoulder stabilization:

    • Route 281 (Mae West Road) in Henry Clay Township.
    • Route 381 (Elliotsville/Farmington-Ohiopyle Road) in Wharton Township.
    • Route 711 (Springfield Pike) in Connellsville and Springfield townships.
    • Route 2011 (Dinnerbell Ohiopyle Road) in Stewart Township.

     Sign upgrading:

    • Various routes countywide.

     Sweeping:

    • Various routes countywide.

    Litter crews will be picking litter on various routes throughout the county as weather and other activities permit.

    Signs will be updated, downed signs will be replaced, and work orders will be addressed on various state routes throughout the county.

    PennDOT has a toll-free number for residents to call to report any road maintenance concern.  This number can also be utilized to report locations of dead deer on state highways.  The number is 1-800-FIX ROAD (1-800-349-7623). 

    Motorists can check conditions on major roadways by visiting www.511PA.com. 511PA, which is free and available 24 hours a day, provides traffic delay warnings, weather forecasts, traffic speed information and access to more than 1,000 traffic cameras. 511PA is also available through a smartphone application for iPhone and Android devices, by calling 5-1-1, or by following regional X alerts.
