Uniontown, PA—Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) District 12 is announcing scheduled single-lane restrictions on Route 18 (Park Avenue) between Ramsey Road and Route 2007 (Scenic Drive) in North Franklin Township, Washington County, beginning Tuesday, April 1.
Anticipated through September, crews from Pugliano Construction Company will replace the bridge carrying Route 18 over Chartiers Creek, an infrastructure investment of $2.1 million. The scope of work includes roadway approach work, drainage upgrades, guide rail upgrades, signing, and pavement marking upgrades.
The bridge will remain open throughout construction. Temporary single-lane restrictions controlled by flagging will begin on Tuesday, April 1, and a long-term signalized single-lane work zone will be implemented on Monday, April 14. All work depends on weather and operations.
With flagging operations in place, motorists should allow extra travel time and navigate work zones with caution. Safety is a shared responsibility.
