I-99 Newry to 17th Street Exit Rehabilitation Project

Single-lane Restrictions on Interstate 99 from Blair Township to the Cross Keys Interchange, Allegheny Township, Blair County, July 7 to July 18

The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) is advising motorists of the closure of the northbound and southbound passing lanes of Interstate 99 (I-99) from mile-marker 26 in Blair Township, to the Cross Keys interchange in Allegheny Township, Blair County, beginning the evening of Monday, July 7, 2025.

Through the weeks of July 7 and July 14, until approximately Friday, July 18, I-99 will be under single-lane restrictions from mile-marker 26 to the Cross Keys interchange.

New Enterprise Stone and Lime, Inc., New Enterprise, Pa., is the contractor for the $23,500,000 project, which includes improvements along 10-miles of I-99 from the median cross-over near Newry to 17th Street exit in Blair County. The work is scheduled to be completed in September of 2025.

As always, PennDOT stresses extra caution in all work zones. Motorists should drive slowly, eliminate all distractions, and stay alert for direction from advanced signage.

Additionally, PennDOT reminds motorists that as of June 5, 2025, the "Paul Miller's Law" is in effect. This law prohibits the use of hand-held devices while driving, even while stopped temporarily due to traffic, a red light, or other momentary delay. Violation of this law is punishable by way of summary citations issued by any Pennsylvania Law Enforcement officer. We strongly urge motorists to make safe choices, put phones out of reach and don’t text and drive.
