Route 27 Bridge Reopens in Sugar Grove Township, Warren County

The bridge that carries Route 27 over Patchen Run in Sugar Grove Township, Warren County has reopened to traffic.

A detour using Route 69, Route 62, and Route 6 had been in effect since March 2025 as part of a $1.3 million project to replace the structure with a new concrete bridge. Work also included minimal paving on both sides of the bridge, drainage updates, slope stabilization, and roadway shoulder repairs.

The majority of the project has been completed with only minor landscaping work remaining. The project is expected to be fully completed by October 2025.

The contractor is Bob Cummins Construction of Bradford, PA. The contract cost is $1,301,301.30, which is to be paid entirely with state funds.

This year PennDOT’s Northwest Region expects to work on more than 100 projects. To see a full listing of all the anticipated work, check out the 2025 Construction Book located under the Partner Resources section at www.penndot.pa.gov/District1.
