Delays Expected During Daylight, Evening and Overnight Hours on Route 36 (Woodbury Pike) in Roaring Spring and Taylor Township, Blair County, Starting June 9 for Intersection Improvement Project

The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) is advising motorists to expect delays during both daylight, and evening and overnight hours beginning Monday, June 6, 2025, for an intersection improvement project at the intersections of Route 36 (Woodbury Pike) and Route 164 (Cove Mountain Road) in Roaring Spring Borough and Taylor Township in Blair County.

The intersection improvement project consists of shoulder widening and the addition of turning lanes, as well as utility relocation and drainage upgrades. From Monday, June 9, to Friday, June 20, 2025, the contractor will working during both daylight hours (6:00 AM to 4:00 PM) and evening and overnight hours (6:00 PM to 6:00 AM).

Long-term traffic controls, and flaggers where needed, will be in place to shift traffic away from the shoulder areas. 

As always, PennDOT stresses extra caution in all work zones. Motorists should drive slowly, eliminate all distractions, and stay alert for direction from advanced signage and flaggers. 

Additionally, PennDOT reminds motorists that as of June 5, 2025, the "Paul Miller's Law" is in effect. This law prohibits the use of hand-held devices while driving, even while stopped temporarily due to traffic, a red light, or other momentary delay. Violation of this law is punishable by way of summary citations issued by any Pennsylvania Law Enforcement officer. We strongly urge motorists to make safe choices, put phones out of reach and don’t text and drive.
