Resurfacing Operations Scheduled Next Week on Several State Highways in Chester, Montgomery, Philadelphia Counties

King of Prussia, PA – The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced today that resurfacing operations are scheduled on several state highways in Chester, Montgomery, and Philadelphia counties under multiple ongoing projects to repair and pave more than 200 miles of state highway across the Philadelphia region.

Motorists are advised of the following travel restrictions:

Chester County

  • Monday, July 1, from 7:00 PM to 5:00 AM the following morning, a lane closure is scheduled on Route 10 (Limestone Road) between Route 472 (Market Street) and Route 41 (Gap Newport Pike) in Oxford Borough and Lower Oxford, Upper Oxford, and West Fallowfield townships for sealing.

Montgomery County

  • Monday, June 24, through Friday, June 28, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, a lane closure is scheduled on Stenton Avenue/Penllyn Blue Bell Pike between Joshua Road and Route 73 (Skippack Pike) in Whitpain and Whitemarsh townships for high friction surface treatment.
  • Tuesday, June 25, through Friday, June 28, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, a lane closure is scheduled on Barren Hill Road between Ridge Pike and Hector Road in Whitemarsh Township for high friction surface treatment.

Philadelphia

  • Monday, June 24, through Friday, June 28, from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, a lane closure is scheduled on Walnut Street between 33rd Street and 63rd Street (Cobbs Creek Parkway) for line striping.
  • Monday, June 24, through Friday, June 28, from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, a lane closure is scheduled on Castor Avenue between U.S. 1 (Roosevelt Boulevard) and Richmond Street for line striping.
  • Monday, June 24, through Friday, June 28, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, a lane closure is scheduled on Aramingo Avenue/Harbison Avenue between Wheatsheaf Lane and U.S. 1 (Roosevelt Boulevard) for line striping.

Motorists are advised to allow extra time when traveling through the work areas because slowdowns will occur. All scheduled activities are weather dependent.

Under these resurfacing and improvement projects, PennDOT's contractors are repairing, milling, and repaving state highways with new asphalt pavement that will seal roadways and provide motorists with a safer and smoother riding surface.
