Four Bridge Replacements Scheduled to Begin Across District 12

Uniontown, PA – Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) District 12 is announcing four scheduled roadway closures in Fayette, Greene, Washington, and Westmoreland counties through early July for bridge replacements.

Beginning Monday, April 14:

    Fayette County -- Lower Tyrone Township

  •  Route 1002 (Banning Road) over a branch of Laurel Run
    • Between Keffer Road and Route 1041 (Chaintown Road/School Road)
  •     Posted detour:
    • Route 1002 (Banning Road)
    • Route 1004 (Cottom Road)
    • Route 1041 (Chaintown Road)

    Greene County -- Aleppo Township

  • Route 3001 (Aleppo Road) over Coon Creek
    • Between Route 3001 (Windy Gap Road) and Route 3012 (Green Valley Road)
  • Posted detour:

    • Route 3001 (Windy Gap Road)
    • Route 3003 (Riggle Road)
    • Route 3012 (Green Valley Road)

    Washington County -- Hopewell Township

  • Route 331 (Brush Run Road) over a branch of Brush Run
    • Between Cherry Road and Elm Road
  • Posted detour:
    • Route 331 (Brush Run Road)
    • Route 844 (Jefferson Avenue)
    • Route 231 (Scenic Drive/Wellsburg Road)

Beginning Monday, April 21:

    Westmoreland County -- Fairfield Township

  • Route 1067 (Laughner Road) over Snyders Run
    • Between Orchard Hollow Road and Route 259 (Coal Pit Road)
  • Posted detour:

    • Route 259 (Coal Pit Road)

Respective county maintenance department bridge crews will demolish the existing superstructures, replace them with precast concrete box culverts, and widen the approaches. Each location is a $750,000 infrastructure investment project.

All work depends on weather and operational conditions.
