    PennDOT's Washington County Maintenance Update

    Uniontown, PA – Washington County Maintenance Manager, Susan Howard, announced the following tentative work plan for the week of August 7, 2023. All maintenance activities are conducted depending on weather and operations.

    During county maintenance work activities motorists should expect to encounter flaggers, single-lane restrictions, moving operations, and detours. Motorists should drive with caution throughout all work areas and be alert for signed work zones requiring the usage of headlights.

    Shoulder cutting is scheduled for:

    • Route 40 (National Pike/Main Street/Chestnut Street) in Buffalo and Canton townships;
    • Route 231(East Finley Street/Wayne Street/North Road) in East Finley, Donegal, and Independence townships; and
    • Route 3001 (Lake Road) in Donegal and Independence townships. 

    Seal coating is scheduled for:

    • Route 4012 (Center Street to Noblestown Road) in Smith Township;
    • Route 4012 (Railroad Street to Johns Avenue) in Mount Pleasant Township;
    • Route 4013 (Valley Street) in Robinson Township;
    • Route 4028 (Main Street) in Burgettstown Township;
    • Route 4037 (Fort Cherry Road) in Mount Pleasant Township; and
    • Route 4067 (North Branch Road) in Robinson Township. 

    Bridge repair is scheduled for:

    • Route 231 (East Finley Drive) in East Finley Township; and
    • Route 3021 (McGuffey Road) in West Finley Township. 

    Base repair is scheduled for:

    • Route 3035 (Rocky Run Road) in Morris Township;
    • Route 3023 (Old Brick Road) in Donegal Township; and
    • Route 3022 (Mount Zion Road) in Morris Township. 

    Ditch/inlet cleaning/repair is scheduled for:

    • Route 2039 (Maple Road) in East Bethlehem Township; and
    • Route 837 (Main Street) in Monongahela.

    Spot milling is scheduled for:

    • Route 837 (Main Street) in Monongahela; and
    • Route 1018 (Fourth Street) in Monongahela.

    Patching is scheduled for:

    • Route 3035 (Rocky Run Road) in East Finley Township. 

    Mowing is scheduled for:

    • Interstate 70, Ramps 8025 (Donora) and Ramp 8014 (Jefferson Avenue);
    • Route 519 Park and Ride, Ramps 9503 and 9501 in North Strabane Township;
    • Interstate 79 Park and Ride, Ramp 9504, (Beau Street) in South Strabane Township;
    • Route 22, Ramp 8046 in Hanover Township; and
    • Route 221 (South Bridge Road) in Claysville Borough.

    Sweeping is scheduled for:

    • Route 4009 (Midway Candon Road/Bulgar Candon Road) in Robinson Township;
    • Route 4010 (Beech Hollow Road) in Robinson Township;
    • Route 4011 (Quick Silver Road) in Robinson Township;
    • Route 4012 (Center Street/Bulgar Raccoon Road/Noblestown Road/Railroad Street/Johns Avenue/Lincoln Avenue) in Smith, Mount Pleasant, and Cecil townships;
    • Route 4013 (Valley Street) in Robinson Township;
    • Route 4015 (Waterdam Road/Joffre Cherry Valley Road) in Mount Pleasant and Smith townships;
    • Route 4016 (Cherry Valley Road) in Mount Pleasant Township;
    • Route 4019 (Pleasant Valley Road/Bulger Candon Road) in Smith and Robinson townships;
    • Route 4037 (Fort Cherry Road/Noblestown Road) in Mount Pleasant and Robinson townships; and
    • Route 4067 (North Branch Road) in Robinson Township.

    Slide repair is scheduled for:

    • State Route 3035 (Rocky Run Road) in East and West Finley townships. 
    Debris/casing cleanup is scheduled for:

    • Interstate 70 in Donegal and Buffalo townships.
    Litter crews will be picking litter on various routes throughout the county as weather and other activities permit.

    Signs will be updated, downed signs will be replaced, and work orders will be addressed on various state routes throughout the county. 

    PennDOT has a toll-free number for residents to call to report any road maintenance concern.  This number can also be utilized to report locations of dead deer on state highways.  The number is 1-800-FIX ROAD (1-800-349-7623).  

    Motorists can check conditions on major roadways by visiting www.511PA.com. 511PA, which is free and available 24 hours a day, provides traffic delay warnings, weather forecasts, traffic speed information and access to more than 1,000 traffic cameras. 

    511PA is also available through a smartphone application for iPhone and Android devices, by calling 5-1-1, or by following regional Twitter alerts.
