King of Prussia, PA – The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced today that pipe replacement and base repair operations are planned on several state highways in Chester and Delaware counties under multiple ongoing projects to repair and pave more than 200 miles of state highway across the Philadelphia region.
Motorists are advised of the following travel restrictions:
Chester County:
- Monday, June 30, through Wednesday, July 2, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, Route 162 (Embreeville Road) will be closed between Route 82 (Doe Run Road) and Stargazers Road in Newlin and East Marlborough townships for base repair. During the closure, motorists will be directed to use Stargazers Road, Strasburg Road, and Route 82 (Doe Run Road).
- Wednesday, July 2, through Tuesday, July 8, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, Scroggy Road will be closed weekdays between Street Road and Jackson School Road in Lower Oxford Township for pipe replacement. During the closure, motorists will be directed to use Street Road, Union School Road, and Jackson School Road.
Delaware County:
- Monday, June 30, through Thursday, July 3, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, Glen Mills Road will be closed between Cheyney Road and Stoney Bank Road in Thornbury Township for base repair. During the closure, motorists will be directed to use Creek Road and Cheyney Road.
- Wednesday, July 2, through Friday, July 11, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, Creek Road will be closed weekdays between Westtown Road and Tanguy Road in Thornbury Township for base repair. During the closure, motorists will be directed to use Cheyney Road, Glen Mills Road, and Creek Road.
Local access will be maintained. Drivers are advised to allow extra time when traveling near the work areas because backups and delays will occur. All scheduled activities are weather dependent.
