Uniontown, PA— The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) is announcing short-term traffic stoppages on Route 119 (Memorial Boulevard) in the City of Connellsville, Fayette County, will occur Tuesday through Thursday, July 15-17 weather permitting.
Flagging operations and short-term intermittent traffic stoppages of 15 minutes or less will occur each day from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. through Thursday on Route 119 between Route 711 (Crawford Avenue) and Route 1031 (Pittsburgh Street Extension) to allow crews to pull wire across Route 119 and install new signal mast arms.
Single-lane restrictions, which began in March, will continue through October on Route 119 between Route 711 (Crawford Avenue) and Route 1031 (Pittsburgh Street Extension).
Motorists should allow extra time if traveling through the corridor. Please stay alert and drive cautiously through the work zones—safety is everyone's responsibility.
All work depends on weather and operations.
This work is part of a $2.4 million infrastructure investment which includes full replacement of the existing traffic signals at McDonald's and Pittsburgh Street (Route 1037) intersections and upgrades to traffic signals at Route 201 (Vanderbilt Road), Route 711 (Crawford Avenue), Shopping Plaza Drive, and Route 1037 (York Avenue/Water Street). All intersections will have upgrades to sidewalks, ADA ramps, pavement markings, and signage. Crews from Bruce & Merrilees Electric Company are conducting this work.
