PennDOT’s Greene County Maintenance Update

Uniontown, PA – Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) Acting Greene County Maintenance Manager Thomas Younkin has announced the following tentative work plan for the week of June 9. All maintenance activities depend on weather and operational considerations.

Motorists can anticipate detours, flaggers, moving operations, and/or single-lane restrictions. Please drive cautiously through all work areas and be alert for signed work zones requiring headlights. Safety is everyone’s responsibility.

Boom mowing:

  • Route 2002 (Bald Hill Road) in Dunkard and Perry townships
  • Route 2004 (Taylortown Road) in Dunkard Township
  • Route 2021 (Bald Hill Church Road) in Dunkard Township
  • Route 3007 (Delphene Road) in Jackson Township

Bridge replacement:

  • Route 3001 (Aleppo Road) over Coon Creek in Aleppo Township
    • Between Route 3001 (Windy Gap Road) and Route 3012 (Green Valley Road)
      • Detour:
        • Route 3001 (Aleppo Road)
        • Route 3001 (Windy Gap Road)
        • Route 3003 (Riggle Road)
        • Route 3012 (Green Valley Road)

Inlet repair:

  • Route 2003 (Buckeye Road) in Perry Township

Patching:

  • Route 18 (Golden Oaks Road) in Freeport Township
  • Route 19 (Washington Road) in Franklin Township
  • Route 3008 (Jollytown Road) in Gilmore Township

Shoulder backup:

  • Route 3008 (Jollytown Road) in Gilmore Township 

Surface treatment:

  • Route 18 (Golden Oaks Road) in Freeport and Jackson townships
  • Route 3006 (Hero Road) in Gilmore Township
  • Route 3007 (Blockhouse Road) in Gilmore and Jackson townships
  • Route 3008 (Pine Bank Road) in Gilmore Township

Crews will pick litter, replace downed and update signs, and address work orders on various state routes countywide. 

PennDOT has a toll-free number—1-800-FIX-ROAD (1-800-349-7623)—for residents to report road maintenance concerns and the locations of dead deer on state highways.

Motorists can check conditions on major roadways by visiting www.511PA.com. 511PA, available free of charge 24 hours a day, provides traffic delay warnings, weather forecasts, traffic speed information, and access to over 1,000 traffic cameras. 511PA is also available through a smartphone application for iPhone and Android devices by calling 5-1-1 or following regional X alerts.
