King of Prussia, PA – The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced today that resurfacing is planned on several state highways in Bucks, Delaware, and Montgomery counties, under multiple ongoing projects to repair and pave more than 200 miles of state highway across the Philadelphia region.
Motorists are advised of the following travel restrictions:
Bucks County
- Sunday, September 29, through Saturday, October 5, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM and 10:00 PM to 6:00 AM the following morning, moving lane closures are scheduled on U.S. 13 (Bristol Pike) between the Frankford Avenue bridge over the Poquessing Creek and 500 feet west of Route 413 (Veterans Highway) in Bensalem and Bristol townships for micro-surfacing operations.
- Sunday, September 29, through Saturday, October 5, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM and 10:00 PM to 6:00 AM the following morning, moving lane closures are scheduled on Knights Road between Route 132 (Street Road) and the Philadelphia County line in Bensalem Township for micro-surfacing operations.
- Monday, October 7, through Friday, October 18, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, Curly Hill Road will be closed weekdays between Route 611 (Easton Road) and Route 413 (Durham Road) in Plumstead Township for milling and paving. During the closure, motorists are directed to use Route 413 (Durham Road), Stump Road, and Route 611 (Easton Road). Local access will be maintained.
Delaware County
- Sunday, September 29, through Friday, October 4, from 8:00 PM to 5:00 AM the following morning, alternating lane closures are scheduled in both directions on U.S. 202 (Wilmington Pike) between the Delaware State line and Oakland Road in Concord and Chadds Ford townships for milling and paving.
Montgomery County
- Sunday, September 29, from 4:00 PM to 6:00 AM the following morning, and Monday, September 30, through Friday, October 4, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM and 6:00 PM to 6:00 AM the following morning, a lane closure is scheduled on Kutztown Road between Route 663 (Layfield Road) and the Berks County line in Upper Hanover Township for milling and paving.
Drivers are advised to allow extra time when traveling through the work areas because backups and delays will occur. All scheduled activities are weather dependent.
Under these resurfacing and improvement projects, PennDOT's contractors are repairing, milling, and repaving state highways with new asphalt pavement that will seal roadways and provide motorists with a safer and smoother riding surface.
