Clearfield, PA – The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) alerted motorists that traffic control patterns will change beginning next week as work continues to rehabilitate a pair of Route 322 bridges spanning Route 3010 (Warner Boulevard) and Spring Creek near the Oak Hall interchange in College Township. This work will improve the ride quality of the bridges, extend their service life, and improve their overall condition ratings from fair to good.
Starting Tuesday, June 3, the contractor will begin work to reset temporary barriers and apply temporary paint markings to reopen the right (travel lane) of 322 eastbound. The contractor will then close the left (passing) lane and begin demolition for the second phase of construction. Route 322 westbound will maintain the existing right lane closure. PennDOT expects work on the project to wrap near the end of August, but all work is weather-dependent.
Overall work on this pair of bridges includes pouring new concrete decking, joint sealing, repairing the bridge railing, paving the approaches, and miscellaneous construction. George S Hann & Son, Inc. of Littleton, PA, is the contractor on this $2 million project.
A third bridge along Route 3022 (University Drive) spanning Route 26 in State College also saw work as part of this contract, which the contractor finished during the 2024 construction season.
