Hollidaysburg, PA – The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) is advising motorists to expect delays beginning Monday, March 17, 2025, on Interstate 99 (I-99) between the 17th Street and Frankstown exits in Blair County.
The potential exists for traffic delays from short term lane closures on the 17th Street ramp of I-99 and the closing of the southbound auxiliary lane of I-99 from the 17th Street exit to the Frankstown exit, as crews set new highway lighting poles on the auxiliary lane.
As always, PennDOT stresses extra caution in all work zones. Motorists should drive slowly, eliminate all distractions, and stay alert for direction from advanced signage and flaggers.
New Enterprise Stone and Lime, Inc., New Enterprise, Pa., is the contractor for the 10.1-mile, $23,500,000 project on I-99 from the median cross-over near Newry to 17th Street exit in Blair County. The project also includes an asphalt overlay of the road and a latex overlay on the bridge decks. The work is scheduled to be completed in September of 2025.
