New Temporary Traffic Signals to be Installed Next Week at Kindig Lane and High Street in Hanover Borough, York County

Contractor to replace signals installed last November by PennDOT

Harrisburg, PA
– The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced today that a contractor is scheduled to install new temporary traffic signals and signs next Wednesday at the intersection of Kindig Lane and High Street in Hanover Borough, York County.

Weather permitting, this work will be from 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM Wednesday, January 29. It is expected to take one day to complete. There will be lane restrictions under flagging during work hours. Delays are expected. Travelers should seek alternate routes.

Temporary signals, signs and pavement markings were installed in all three directions of the intersection last November by PennDOT. Before that, there was a stop condition at the Kindig Lane leg of the intersection and both directions of High Street were through movements without stop or yield conditions in place. The intersection was signalized to improve safety and operations.

The new set of temporary signals will remain in place until the project to install permanent signals is completed this year.

JVI Group, Inc., of York Springs, PA, is the contractor for the $737,925 project.
