Harrisburg, PA – The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced today that a safety improvement project on multiple routes in York County is scheduled to begin next week. This project consists of high-friction surface treatment, asphalt resurfacing, line painting, advance warning countermeasures, and sign updates.
Weather permitting this work will begin Monday, March 31, and continue from 8:00 AM to 6:00 PM Mondays through Saturdays. There will be short-term lane closures under flagging.
Work initially will begin at the following locations:
- Route 851 (Bryansville Road) from Blair Road to Clubhouse Road in Peach Bottom Township.
- Route 2095 (Mt. Olive Road) from Ridge Road to Blymire Hollow Road just south of Winterstown in N. Hopewell Township.
- Route 3072 (Moulstown Road) from Gits Run Road to Colonial Valley Road in Heidelberg Township.
- Route 4012 (Wellsville Road) from Harmony Grove Road to Zeigler Road in Warrington Township.
The contractor will work at each location for 2-3 days performing asphalt repairs. Following a 30-day curing period, the contractor will remobilize on May 10 to begin applying the high friction surface treatment and roadway markings at project locations.
High friction surface treatment will be applied on 10 routes. In addition to the above locations, high friction surface treatments and other improvements will be made on the following routes:
- Route 24 (N. Sherman Street Ext.) from Starview Road to Jerusalem School Road in East Manchester Township.
- Route 216 (Sticks Road) between the two intersections with Sticks School Road in Codorus Township.
- Route 234 (East Berlin Road) from Dell Road to Sunset Road in Jackson Township.
- Route 2001 (Freysville Road) from Ness Road to Route 124 in Windsor Township.
- Route 2002 (East Springwood Road) from Camp Betty Washington Road to Chapel Church Road in York Township.
- Route 3001 (South George Street) between the two intersections with Old Baltimore Pike in Spring Garden Township.
Updates will be issued as this project progresses.
RAM Construction Services, of Livonia, Michigan, is the contractor on this $1,043,011 project. All work is expected to be completed by August 26, 2025.
