Night Work Resumes Sunday on Route 30 at Centerville Road Interchange Improvement Project in E. Hempfield Township, Lancaster County

Milling and concrete patching to be performed; lane restrictions on Route 30

 

Harrisburg, PA – The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced today that night work is set to resume this Sunday on Route 30 at the Centerville Road Interchange Improvement Project in E. Hempfield Township, Lancaster County.

Weather permitting, night work will begin Sunday, March 16, and will continue Sunday through Thursday nights from 8:00 PM to 6:00 AM through late May or early June. Work includes milling and concrete patching.

The contractor will begin with work in the median, then move to the Route 30 travel lanes. There will be lanes restrictions in both directions of Route 30 during work hours.

This work is part of the Centerville Road Interchange Improvement project, which consists of structure replacement, Superpave overlay, base replacement, roadway widening, milling, guiderail improvements, drainage improvements, pavement markings, ADA improvements, traffic signal improvements, and other miscellaneous construction.

The project includes work on Centerville Road from Cornerstone Drive to Marietta Avenue (Route 23), and Marietta Avenue from Centerville Road to Stony Battery Road. The project is primarily located in East Hempfield Township, though the section from Cornerstone Drive to Columbia Avenue is in Manor Township.

JD Eckman, Inc., of Atglen, PA is the prime contractor on this $36.3 million project. Work is expected to be completed in August of 2025.
