King of Prussia, PA – The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced today that Plymouth Road was opened this morning in both directions between Rittenhouse Square and Butler Pike in Plymouth Township, Montgomery County, following sinkhole repair.
Northbound Plymouth Road was closed on Friday, May 3, following the discovery of pavement settlement. In addition, southbound Plymouth Road was closed May 14, to expand excavation activity into the southbound lanes,
PennDOT's contractor used flowable fill to pack the void until an elevation was reached where the roadway base could be installed, followed by final paving.
