Construction Activities Scheduled Next Week on Several State Highways in Bucks, Montgomery, Philadelphia Counties

King of Prussia PA – The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced today that various construction activities are scheduled next week on several state highways in Bucks, Montgomery, and Philadelphia counties.

The work schedules and locations are:

Bucks County

  • Friday, March 31, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, a right lane closure is scheduled on northbound Route 611 (Easton Road) between Almshouse Road and Edison Furlong Road in Doylestown Township for bridge inspection.

Montgomery County

  • Monday, March 27, and Tuesday, March 28, a lane closure is scheduled on Route 73 (Big Road) between Route 29 (Gravel Pike) and Swamp Creek Road in Lower Frederick Township for pipe replacement;
  • Tuesday, March 28, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, a lane shift is scheduled on Manatawny Street between North State Street and Glasgow Street in Pottstown Borough for bridge inspection;
  • Wednesday, March 29, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, a right lane closure is scheduled on westbound I-76 between the Gulph Mills and the King of Prussia interchanges in Upper Merion Township for bridge inspection; and
  • Thursday, March 30, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, a right lane closure is scheduled on eastbound I-76 between the Gulph Mills and the Interstate 476 interchanges in West Conshohocken Borough and Upper Merion Township for bridge inspection.

Philadelphia

  • Monday, March 27, through Friday, March 31, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, periodic lane closures are scheduled on Frankford Avenue between East Hunting Park Avenue and Torresdale Avenue for barrier and attenuator installation; and
  • Thursday, March 30, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, alternating lane closures are scheduled on the northbound I-95 ramp to Callowhill Street for bridge inspection.

Motorists are advised to allow extra time when traveling through the work areas because slowdowns may occur. All scheduled activities are weather dependent.

These construction activities are part of PennDOT's program to ensure the safety and overall condition of our state highways.
