King of Prussia, PA – The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced today that pipe replacement and base repair operations are planned on several state highways in Chester, Delaware, and Montgomery counties under multiple ongoing projects to repair and pave more than 200 miles of state highway across the Philadelphia region.
Motorists are advised of the following travel restrictions:
Chester County:
- Monday, June 23, through Friday, June 27, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, Route 162 (Embreeville Road) will be closed between Route 82 (Doe Run Road) and Stargazers Road in Newlin and East Marlborough townships for base repair. During the closure, motorists will be directed to use Stargazers Road, Strasburg Road, and Route 82 (Doe Run Road).
Delaware County:
- Monday, June 23, through Friday, June 27, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, Chelsea Road will be closed between Concord Road and Chichester Avenue in Bethel and Upper Chichester townships for base repair. During the closure, motorists will be directed to use Concord Road and Chichester Road.
- Monday, June 23, through Friday, June 27, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, Bethel Road will be closed between Smithbridge Road and Featherbed Lane in Concord Township for base repair. During the closure, motorists will be directed to use Smithbridge Road, Kirk Road, and Featherbed Lane.
Montgomery County:
- Monday, June 23, and Tuesday, June 24, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, Fagleysville Road will be closed between Colonial Road and Route 73 (Big Road) in Upper Frederick Township for base repair. During the closure, motorists will be directed to use Fagleysville Road, Colonial Road, and Route 73 (Big Road).
- Wednesday, June 25, through Friday, June 27, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, Linfield Road/Sanatoga Road will be closed between Evergreen Road and Limerick Center Road in Limerick Township for base repair. During the closure, motorists will be directed to use Evergreen Road, Ridge Pike, and Limerick Center Road.
- Wednesday, June 25, through Friday, June 27, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, Stump Hall Road will be closed between Route 363 (Valley Forge Road) and Route 73 (Skippack Pike) in Worcester and Skippack townships for pipe replacement. During the closure, motorists will be directed to use Route 73 (Skippack Pike) and Route 363 (Valley Forge Road).
Local access will be maintained. Drivers are advised to allow extra time when traveling near the work areas because backups and delays will occur. All scheduled activities are weather dependent.
Under these resurfacing and improvement projects, PennDOT’s contractors are repairing, milling, and repaving state highways with new asphalt pavement that will seal roadways and provide motorists with a safer and smoother riding surface.
