Dunmore, PA – There will be rolling roadblocks on Interstate 81 northbound in Luzerne County between Exit 151 (Route 80 Junction) and Exit 155 (Dorrance) on Thursday, August 28, 2025, beginning at 1:00 PM and continuing until 6:00 AM on Friday, August 29, 2025. The roadblocks are required to allow new beams to be moved into position for the bridge replacement project near the Dorrance exit. Motorists should watch for slowed or stopped traffic through the construction zone.
The northbound Roadside Rest at mile-marker 156 will also be closed to trucks on Thursday, August 28, 2025 from 2:00 PM until 11:00 PM to stage the bridge beams.
When encountering a work zone, please drive the posted speed limit, turn on your headlights, pay close attention to signs and flaggers, and avoid all distractions. In high-traffic locations, motorists are encouraged to use both lanes of travel to the merge point and take turns merging into the open lane.
