Little Pine Creek Road Bridge Rehabilitation Project Continues in Pine Township, Lycoming County

Montoursville, PA – Motorists are advised that the bridge rehabilitation project continues on Route 4001 (Little Pine Creek Road) in Pine Township, Lycoming County. This project will disassemble the existing structure, refurbish portions of the existing steel and replace some components with new steel. The bridge will then be reassembled and will be the same configuration as the current structure.

The temporary bridge over Pine Creek has been completed. Motorists can expect to use the temporary structure for the next two years while the existing bridge is disassembled, refurbished, and reassembled. The temporary bridge is open to legal, non-permit loads under 80,000 pounds.

Motorists are advised when the refurbished bridge is reassembled, the temporary bridge will be removed, and the weight restriction of the refurbished structure will be 10-tons.

J.D. Eckman is the prime contractor on this $11 million, multi-year bridge improvement project.  This construction season, the contractor will install the temporary bridge and disassemble the existing bridge, which will be sent away to be refurbished. In 2025, the contractor will construct new abutments and anchorages where the bridge will be reassembled. The project is anticipated to be completed in late 2026, when the contractor reassembles the refurbished structure.

Motorists should be alert, slow down, expect delays, watch for changing traffic patterns, and drive with caution in the area.
