Repairs to Route 477 Bridge at Salona Interchange Start Monday

Clearfield, PA – The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced that work to repair a Route 477 bridge at the Salona interchange of Route 220 in Lamar Township, Clinton County, starts Monday, August 18. This project will repair the structural steel damaged in a bridge strike.

Starting Monday, the contractor will close one of the two northbound on-ramps at this interchange. The ramp that is closing is typically accessed by traffic turning onto Route 477 via Route 64. During the closure, traffic that ordinarily utilizes this ramp will instead turn left across traffic and use the northbound on-ramp on the opposite side of the road. Signage and message boards are in place alerting drivers of the change, however PennDOT urges drivers to exercise caution, obey posted speed limits and work zone signage, and always buckle up.

PennDOT expects the closure to remain in place for approximately two weeks while repairs are made. All schedules are weather-dependent.

Work on this contract includes the repairs to the structural steel and painting. HRI, Inc., of State College, PA, is the contractor on this $64,349 project.
