PennDOT Closing I-80 Eastbound at Lock Haven for Emergency Repairs After Crash

Clearfield, PA – The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) is closing Interstate 80 eastbound between exits 178/Lock Haven and 212B/Williamsport later this morning to repair the damage the roadway suffered during a commercial vehicle crash at mile marker 191 during the early morning hours.

While the closure is in place, drivers will exit the I-80 at Lock Haven and follow Route 220 northbound to Interstate 180 and Interstate 180 eastbound back to Interstate 80 at exit 212B/Williamsport. This detour is known as the “Blue” detour, and there is signage posted along the route.

PennDOT’s regional traffic management center is supporting this operation by populating the information into 511PA and activating its variable message boards along the interstates and detour route. It expects to finish the repairs before nightfall and will issue an update after repairs are complete. All work is weather-dependent.

Motorists can check conditions on major roadways by visiting www.511PA.com. 511PA, which is free and available 24 hours a day, provides traffic delay warnings, weather forecasts, traffic speed information, and access to more than 1,000 traffic cameras. 511PA is also available through a smartphone application for iPhone and Android devices, by calling 5-1-1, or by following regional X alerts.
