Glen Hazel Road Detour in Place June 23, for Railroad Crossing Replacement

Clearfield, PA – The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced B and P Railroad will close Route 1001 (Glen Hazel Road) in Jones Township, Elk County beginning Monday, June 23, to complete the replacement of a railroad crossing. This project will improve the ride quality and increase safety for motorists.

A detour around this project site will route traffic onto Route 1006 (Clarion Street), Route 219, Route 1009 (Center Street in Johnsonburg Borough), and Route 1004 (Glen Avenue) for a detour length of 13 miles. PennDOT anticipates completion of the project within a week.

PennDOT reminds drivers to use caution in the work zone, remain alert for railroad operators and equipment, approach railroad crossings carefully, and “Always expect a train.”
