Uniontown, PA—Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) District 12 is announcing the scheduled closure of Hoover Road between Route 130 and Hoods Mill Road in Cook Township, Westmoreland County, beginning Monday, April 7.
A detour will be in place and is expected to remain in effect through early May.
Crews from Gulisek Construction will conduct preservation work on the bridge that carries Hoover Road over Fourmile Run. The scope includes clearing and grubbing, abutment rehabilitation, milling and paving approaches, protective coating over the bridge deck and parapets, joint sealing, and waterproofing. All work depends on the weather and operations.
This is part of a larger $1.6 million infrastructure investment project aimed at preserving six local bridges in Greene, Washington, and Westmoreland counties. The work consists of concrete repairs, crack sealing, protective coating application, expansion joint replacement, and waterproofing.
