Uniontown, PA – Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) District 12 is announcing the scheduled closure of Route 1059 (Sugar Run Road), between Route 1006 (Venetia Road) in Peters Township and Route 1061 (Mingo Church Road) in Nottingham Township, Washington County, beginning Monday, June 16.

Allison Park Contractors, Inc. will be rehabilitating the bridge that carries Sugar Run Road over Peters Creek with a full-depth deck replacement and general maintenance – an infrastructure investment of $150,000.
Built in 1939, the non-composite steel I-beam structure measures 53 feet in length with a deck area of 1,325 square feet. It has an average daily traffic count of 1,860 vehicles and was posted for a reduced weight limit of 20 tons on Wednesday, May 28.
The detour is expected to last through late August. All work depends on weather and operational conditions.
