Pittsburgh, PA – PennDOT District 11 is announcing improvement work on Route 8 (William Flinn Highway) in Shaler and Hampton townships, Allegheny County will occur Friday through Monday, June 23-26 weather permitting.
Crews will conduct concrete base repairs on Route 8 between Spencer Lane Extension and Burchfield Drive. A single 10-foot lane will be maintained in each direction according to the following schedule:

Northbound Route 8 – 8 a.m. Friday morning continuously through 6 a.m. Monday morning

Southbound Route 8 – 9 a.m. Friday morning continuously through 6 a.m. Monday morning
Additional weekend work will occur on this project. Information will be provided in advance of weekend work.
The work is part of a $13.59 million project that includes milling and resurfacing of the existing asphalt roadway, minor bridge preservation work, guide rail updates, minor drainage updates, traffic signal upgrades, and pavement marking/delineation updates between Spencer Lane Extension and the Butler County line. Motorists can expect weeknight single-lane restrictions, daily weekend restrictions, and a long-term lane closure between Spencer Lane and Butler Plank Road in Shaler Township. Additionally, next year, nighttime closures will occur on the Bakerstown interchange ramps for approximate one week. The project is expected to be completed in the summer of 2024.
