New Castle, PA – As part of the Shapiro Administration’s ongoing efforts to modernize services and enhance customer experience, the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced today that the New Castle Driver License center will temporary close for facility renovations.The facility, located at 973 Old Youngstown Road, New Castle, will be closed from Tuesday, July 8 to Saturday, July 12.
The work includes replacing furniture and installing new flooring throughout the facility. The New Castle location will reopen for normal operations Tuesday, July 15.
“The Shapiro Administration is making sure necessary upgrades and repairs to PennDOT’s driver license facilities get completed as part of our ongoing work to create customer-focused spaces that support efficient services,” said PennDOT Driver and Vehicle Services Deputy Secretary Kara Templeton. “With customer service our number one priority, we are offering increased staffing at nearby locations to meet the needs of Pennsylvanians while we’re completing the renovation work.”
PennDOT’s New Castle employees will be temporarily reassigned to the Beaver Falls Driver License Center at 2580 Constitution Boulevard, Beaver Falls; Butler Driver License Center at 158 Point Plaza, Butler; and Mercer Driver License Center at 519B Greenville Road, Mercer.
Customers who have a scheduled driving exam at the New Castle Driver License center during the closure will be contacted and offered alternative arrangements. For a complete list of driver license and photo center locations and hours of operation, visit www.pa.gov/dmv.
Driver and vehicle services are available online, 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Those services include non-commercial driver’s license, photo ID and vehicle registration renewals; driver-history records; changes of address; driver license and vehicle registration restoration letters; ability to pay driver license or vehicle insurance restoration fee; driver license, photo ID and camera card duplicates; REAL ID pre-verification; and driver exam scheduling. There are no additional fees for using online services.
