Pittsburgh, PA – PennDOT District 11 is announcing nightly lane closures on Route 4003 (McKnight Road) in the City of Pittsburgh, and Ross and McCandless townships, Allegheny County will occur Wednesday through Sunday night, August 6-10 weather permitting.
Starting Wednesday night, McKnight Road will be reduced to a single lane as needed between Venture Street and the Babcock Boulevard interchange night from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. through Sunday night as crews conduct minor punch list items.
This $26.99 million McKnight Road improvement project began in February 2024 between Venture Street and Perrymont Road in the City of Pittsburgh, and Ross and McCandless townships, including Babcock Boulevard/Evergreen Road. Work includes bridge and culvert preservation, milling and paving, base repairs, drainage upgrades, pipe cleaning, guide rail, signal, and ADA ramp upgrades, waterline replacement, concrete mountable curb replacement and new signage and pavement markings. Remaining work in the southbound direction includes drainage updates, milling and paving, and side road adjustments under a lane closure. Side road adjustments and ramp work will occur in the northbound direction. Work is expected to conclude in the summer of 2025. Lindy Paving, Inc. is the prime contractor.
