The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) is reminding drivers should be alert for nighttime rolling closures for both directions of Interstate 90 near the Beckman Road Bridge in Girard Township, Erie County.
Motorists may encounter slow-moving or stopped traffic from 8:00 PM to 6:00 AM tonight and tomorrow between Exit 16 (Route 98, Franklin Center, Fairview) and Exit 9 (Route 18, Girard, Platea) in both the westbound and eastbound lanes.
The restrictions are needed as work continues on the demolition of the Beckman Road Bridge over I-90. Additional information on the project, which is part of the overall I-90 Reconstruction Plan, can be found online by visiting www.penndot.pa.gov/District clicking the Projects Near You and the District 1 link.
PennDOT urges motorists to slow down when driving in work zones, and also to be alert to changing conditions, avoid distractions and to pay attention to signs and flaggers. Drive responsibly in work zones for your safety and the safety of the workers.
