PennDOT to Install New Stop Sign Configuration at Mercersburg Road and Lemar Road Intersection in Peters Township, Franklin County

Harrisburg, PA – The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced today that a new stop sign configuration will be installed Tuesday, October 22, 2024, at the intersection of Mercersburg Road (Route 416) and Lemar Road (Route 3007) in Peters Township, Franklin County. The new configuration will consist of stop signs on both approaches of Mercersburg Road, making the intersection an All-Way Stop. Additionally, the overhead flashing signal will be changed to “all red”.

This new stop condition on Mercersburg Road will be marked by “Stop Ahead” signs with flashing amber lights, as well as flashing red lights on the new stop signs. The amber lights will remain in place for 30 days and the red lights will remain in place for 60 days, after which time, the flashing lights will be removed. In addition, there will be (VMS) variable message signs alerting motorists in both directions of the new stop condition on Mercersburg Road.
