Traffic will be detoured

Harrisburg, PA – The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced today that a bridge replacement project is scheduled to begin next week on Blue Ball Road (Route 2038) in York County. The bridge spans the South Branch Muddy Creek between Grove Mill Road in Fawn Township and Maize Road in East Hopewell Township.

Weather permitting, work will begin Monday, May 5. A detour will be in place using Pleasant Valley Road (Route 2065), Route 851, and New Park Road (Route 2069).

This project consists of a bridge replacement, minor roadway reconstruction at the approaches, embankment stabilization, and guiderail updates. The existing single-span reinforced concrete arch bridge will be replaced with a single-span prestressed spread box beam bridge.
